1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Many people believe that because they sin that it disqualifies them from receiving the love of God. Well, I’m here to tell you that is false. In the word, God has reminded us several times of how much he loves us. The scriptures also remind us of God’s forgiveness and how patient and kind he is with us. There are several things I want you to understand. God loves you so much and he knows when you are going to fall before you do. He knows your ins and outs. He knows your heart and desperation to get right. God is a forgiving God and he is so patient with us in our shortcomings. Sometimes we get so caught up in God forgiving us that we take for granted his grace and mercy. Let’s not get so caught up in him being so patient that we intentionally mess up because we know that he will forgive us.
Romans 3:23-26 says, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
No sin is greater than the other so we need to stop comparing our sins. God loves you just the same way he would love someone dealing with substance abuse. God loves you just the same way he would love someone who is incarcerated. In fact, he loves you so much that he still woke you up knowing what you did last night or before you read this blog. God is not big on the size of your sin. He wants you to confess, repent, and come to him. The best thing to do is read some stories of sinners In the bible. While reading, pay attention to then interact with God and his people. Here are a few people you can read on and see how God dealt with them and their sins.
The story of King David
The Apostle Paul
The Apostle Peter
Rahab the Prostitute
The Prodigal Son
These are just to name a few but the bible is full of miracles. Take time to spend with God and repent of your sins. Please understand once you confess, repent, and come to Christ DONT LOOK BACK! The enemy will make you feel ashamed, guilty, and unworthy of walking with Christ. I’m here to tell you that you can be renewed, transformed, and changed. Remember who you are in Christ and that he loves you. Be Blessed!
